Q: I want to use the equipment you hire for weight loss. What is the best way in using these?
A: One of the first things one needs to remember, wether you use our Fitness At Home Vibroplates, treadmills, cross trainer or treadmills, without a good nutritious food intake it will be hard to shift any of the inches. Inches? you say, you want weight loss. I would prefer to talk in inch loss rather than weight as weight is very changeable day to day and does not necessarily indicates RESULT. And another thing not many know is that your body uses muscle tissue to burn fat/calories. Muscle tissue is heavier than fat tissue therefor if you are following a good exercise program you will start to build up some muscle tissue(don’t worry, not body builder size) most of it in places where you don’t even notice. But in effect your weight does not necessarily lowers, but the inches are dropping away.
So to loose weight we want to burn calories, to burn calories we want to create and use muscle tissue. Also when we do exercise we want to use as many muscle tissue at the same time. The best calorie burners in our range at Fitness At Home are the 1. Rower, 2. Cross Trainer, 3. Spinning Bike.
On this page we will keep you informed on the variety of equipment we have available and how best to use it. For example if you want to loose weight you would use the machines in a different manor then when you are training for the Dublin marathon. Or maybe you are re-habilitating from an injury.
Weight loss use for Vibroplate:
You can easily get it wrong with this wonder machine. And result from our customers have shown us that they do work, no lie. Once you use it the right way that is. Keep an eye on what you eat and alternate the exercise and most of all....use the right speed.
When we deliver your machine, either for hire or sale, our fitness advisor will hand you a sheet with a range of workouts. These workouts can be either done in a stationary position or , even better, while active. I.E. a squat position can be held for certain time or you can make the up and down movement continuously.
Also you will have to make sure that you DO NOT get into a routine. Why? As your body is a great machine in itself it will get used to the workout you are doing. Be honest, we all done the evening walk day in day out, had some effect of it in the first few weeks and then it stagnates. You still enjoy your walk, you still do a workout for your heart and lungs but just not enough for inch loss. So here we go. Inch loss result on the Vibroplate.
Please note this is for the oscillating or “See Saw” effect Vibroplate as these are most popular with our customers. Please see other notes on the ‘orbital” plates.
You can either use it 3 times a day while every time using it with a different exercise/position. Or 30 min in one go, doing 6 sets of 5 minutes. So you pick 6 exercises, pick the ones where you can actively move, i.e. squat, triceps dip, push up, sit up, pelvic bridge, lunges, steps etc. Do not do these every day but have an active day and a relax day( you can still use the plate on the relax day just pick different exercises and do the 3xday session.
Keep the speed right. The right speed for weight loss is where you feel a “wobble” rather than a shake. Or you know the feeling when you shake the water of your hands with short strokes. Its like something is pulling your body. Why is this crucial? If you are going to fast, and lets be honest, we all would be jumping on these, going to the max speed to get the most result, you doing more of a tone up exercise. I.E. working on muscle build up. Go on, try it. Go up to the max with the machine you have rented and feel how strong your muscles are cramping up. And now lower it down to where you feel this “wobble”. You can feel and after a while see the difference towards a new you.
As your body needs to get “used” to the new exercise regime it could be up to 2 weeks before you will start noticing result. Use a measure tape rather than the weighing scale to track the result.
